Credentials Management

This information is exclusively for the use of
those authorized by Capital City Christian Church.
Any violation will be punished to the full extent
of the law, and our imagination.

This file contains the information about the credentials file rather than the credentials themselves.

A file named Credentials.txt is kept and maintained on a USB drive (with an attached tag that reads 'Passwords') which is kept locked in the safe kept in the closet of Doc's office. This file can be opened and read/edited by practically any editor.

In this way, anyone with access to the contents of the safe will have access to all of the collected credentials used in the church. This does not include any personnel credentials or user account login credentials or access/reference information. This file does include the credentials needed to manage the church's digital infrastructure and devices. For example; switches, file server administrative account, WiFi Access Points, projectors, and so on.

This file is never to be emailed, texted, posted, or stored on any networked system or device.

One exception which will provide for keeping an off-site backup of the actual credentials is that an encrypted copy of the file will be stored in the Documentation folder on the file server along with all of the network documentation. This will allow that encrypted copy to be backed up along with the other files that are backed up off-site.

In the case there is a loss of the safe, the file in the safe and so on, the encrypted copy can be downloaded and decrypted.
